Polishaus: The Holidays Collection- Swatches & Review

Wow 2 posts in one day, never done that before.

Today i have 3 polishes from Polishaus's The Holidays Collection. The Holidays Collection will be released tomorrow, Friday November 1st.

The Holidays Collection consists of 6 glitter toppers, the three listed down below are the ones that i currently have to show you:

  • Wonderland: Glitter topper with large royal blue circles; large baby blue hexes; medium white and baby blue circles; small white and royal blue hexes; small iridescent hexes; blue, white iridescent micro glitters.
  • #Instachristmas: Glitter topper with dark red/brown, white medium hexes;bright red and mint pastel circles; small dark red/brown, light green and dark green hexes; white, green, dark red/brown micro glitters.
  • Xmas Tree: Glitter topper with large bright red circular glitter, medium green, white, silver circular glitters; brown hexes; purple squares and circles; silver brown and green micro glitter.
First swatch is of Wonderland, 2 thin coats over China Glaze Pelican Gray. I love the blue and white glitter combo and it definitely reminds me of Wonderland so the name is perfect. Formula and application where great, I did do some fishing for the bigger hexes but that's understandable since they are so big.

Second swatch is #Instachristmas, 2 thin coats over ORLY Voyeuristic Adventure. I really love this polish because it plays with the typical green, white and red Christmas colors. There are some nice surprises like the mint and the dark brown, and i especially love the mint glitters because they are circles. Formula and application are amazing, I do not have to fish for any glitters.

The last swatch is Xmas Tree, 3 coats over Essie In The Cab-Ana. I was going to put a darker fall color as a base but it wasn't allowing the purple to really show. I'm really loving the big red circles and the purple glitter in general for this polish, but the only thing I'm disappointed is that i really had to fish for the red circles. I did flip the polish over before i applied it, but i could just not get one more for my middle finger. I also wish there were more purple hexes because i was only able to get one.

The Holidays collection will be available tomorrow Friday November 1st, 2013. You can purchase these at Lesley's store front by clicking here. Follow Lesley on Instagram for information regarding re-stocks and availability.

First Loved Designs: Swatches & Review

Hey everyone!

Today I have a fairly new Indie polish company called First Loved Designs and let me tell you, an indie company that's this new, honestly you can't expect an awesome formula, and amazing and creative polishes, but this brand really did blow me away. It could be that it's my type of polish or the colors, I don't know, but all I can say is that I love these two polishes that were sent to me!

Here's a list of them and their description:

  • Light Unto My Path: a glow in the dark glitter topper mint bars, holo and fuchsia hexes, and fuchsia micro glitter.
  • Warriors & Princesses: glitter topper with black, pink, light pink and white hexes, white and light pink bars, pink and light pink squares, holo hexes
And the swatches...

Light Unto My Path, 2 thin coats over Essie Turquoise & Caicos. This glitter topper is so girly, and just so colorful. I LOVE the glitter combo in this!

Doesn't it look like a galaxy or something on the bottom?!?!
This looks like stars or something!!
Look at that glow! I'm not gonna lie, the polish didn't look that awesome in the bottle, it looked pretty, but not super interesting. But this honestly blew me away! Is there any other glow in the dark polishes that glow like this?? Please let me know!

And the last swatch is of Warriors & Princesses, 2 thin coats over China Glaze Pelican Grey. I like this a lot too! Yeah, it didn't blow me away like the other one, but I still like it so much.

Formula and application were awesome on these two, I did flip W&P over for a bit before application which is normal for a glitter topper.

You can purchase these both from Lisa's etsy store for $5 each by clicking here. Follow Lisa on instagram too for information regarding restocks and availability!

    • Burple Witches Brew: sheer purple jelly base with black and orange micro glitters, black shards, and blue/grey diamonds
So first up is the Collegiate Fall Collection, Florida Edition.

Knight & Gold Day, 2 coats over Julep Kendra. I love the combination of this glitter topper. I think I should have tried a lighter base, but I thought It would look good under a dark green. I do wish there was more glitter, but it's very scattered. It's still pretty though.

Gator Tail, 2 coats over Serum No. 5 Eternal Sunshine. I totally love this! And the blue and orange go really well together.

My Garnett, Your Gold, 2 coats over Julep Florence. I really like this! I think it's because red and gold go so well together, and the black glitter is a nice plus.

Bull Turf, 2 coats over Julep Valerie. I really like the glitter combination in this one as well but I do wish the glitter wasn't so scattered.

Orange U Glad Its Green, 2 coats over Nicole by OPI Back to Reality...TV. I really liked this one. And though it's not part of the Halloween collection, to me it does, especially with this base.

Shark Bait, 2 coats over Orly Voyeuristic Adventure and Serum No. 5 Burning Orchid. I initially had swatched it over Burning Orchid, but for some reason I didn't like it much so I did it over orly instead. I really like this one too, especially the white bars.

And the Mystic Series Collection, inspired by The Mystic Series novels and it consists of two polishes, The Mystic Coven(shown below) and Layla's Love, which you can find swatches of at Polish My Life's instagram by clicking here.

The Mystic Coven, 2 coats over Essie In The Cab-Ana. I love this one! those pink diamonds are so pretty!

And the Halloween Baby Boo Collection, consists of 3 shades, but I only have one to show you: Burple Witches Brew.

Burple Witches Brew, 2 coats over OPI Siberian Nights. OMG I love this one! The base is so pretty, its actually a bit more blue but since it's pretty sheer, I decided to layer it over purple.

You can purchase all of these shades at Polish My Life's storefront by clicking here. Follow Shaneka, the creator of Polish My Life at instagram and facebook!!

  • Diamond Divadeep fuchsia jellyish base with pink, purple and teal micro glitter and shimmer
  • Root Beer Floatshimmery brown/grey/silvery base with a rainbow of micro glitter shades
descriptions taken from Laquerlicious's etsy shop

First swatch is of Barbie Girl, 2 thin coats over Essie Turquoise & Caicos. OMG I love the glitter combination in this, and the name is just perfect. Application and formula was perfect.

Next up is Star Attitude, 2 thin coats over Julep Missy. This polish was sent to me to swatch it, and I was so happy because I was actually going to buy it, but Barbie Girl took it's spot instead, so thanks Michelle! This is just a glitter bomb, and its awesome!

Next is Caramelized Apples, 3 thin coats. This polish is just so creative. And it really does look like caramelized apples. This polish is just perfect for fall. Application and formula were great.

Next is Diamond Diva, 2 thin coats. Yup, TWO thin coats, that's how awesome the formula was. Honestly, this polish didn't catch my attention that much in the bottle, but once I put it on, it just blew me away. I'm not gonna lie, the whole fuchsia and blue shimmer have been done plenty of times, but this one is really unique and the blue flakes just add so much depth to it. Yeah its amazing.

And last but not least is Root Beer Float, 3 thin coats. This one also didn't call my attention too much in the bottle but once I put it on, I noticed all the rainbow micro glitter in there and I just thought it went so well together, because let's be honest, brown isn't the most fun color out there. But the rainbow glitter makes it really interesting.

Ok well there you go, the last part of my Laquerlicious polishes. I'm so happy with all my new polishes and I can't wait to see what Michelle comes up with next. Remember you can purchase these at her etsy page by clicking hereYou can follow Laquerlicious on facebookinstagram, and twitter.

Have a great night everyone!

First swatch is of Skeletons In Your Closet, 2 thin coats over Julep Valerie. I absolutely love this polish! I don't know why this one stands out to me so much, I think it's because of the pastel glitters. It's such a different take on Halloween, but works great. I didn't have to fish for any glitter.

Next swatch is of Boo I See You, 2 thin coats over OPI Visions of love. I love the green shimmer in this, and those large white bars! Formula and application were amazing, no glitter fishing!

Next swatch is of 10.31, 3 coats. Love the name is this polish by the way, It's so simple but yet never seen. I like that it's not a crazy  in-your-face glitter topper, but it still screams Halloween to me, just beautiful.

And here it is using Laquerlicious Matte Top Coat. This dries super fast after applying it to dry polish. You can purchase this here:

And the last swatch is of Cauldron's Spell, 2 thin coats over Julep Ciara. Ok, first of all, you guys know that I'm not a fan of shard glitter. And i wasn't exactly sure of buying this, but I really do want to like it, so I said, Why Not? And omg, remember when I said that I would like shard glitter once I found a polish that used it perfectly?? Well this is it.

Rain City Lacquer: Swatches & Review

Hey everyone!

Today I have 7 new Rain City Lacquer polishes! Rica, the owner of Rain City Lacquer, has add a couple of polishes to her  Milk & Macarons line (which I love by the way!), plus a few extra shades perfect for fall! Here's a list of them:

  • Blackberry Macaron: pale purple/lavender milky base with circular pastel glitters, black heart glitters, and holo hex glitters
  • Mint Macaron: milky mint green base with circular pastel glitters, black heart glitters, and holo hex glitters
  • Sugar Plum Berry: violet jelly with blue shimmer
  • If the Crown Fits!: clear base polish loaded with various iridescent glitters and gold flakes
  • Golden Apples: red polish with bright gold shimmer and flakies
  • Emeralds & Evergreens: glitter topper with various green glitters (metallic, matte, and holo)
  • Sugar & Spice: bright pink crelly with black, holo, and pink circular glitters, red heart glitters, and silver stars

The first swatch is Blackberry Macaron, 5 coats no undies. This polish is very sheer especially for me because of my long nails so try layering it over a white or a light lavender to really make the base cover pop. I'm really loving the Milk and Macaron's collection, the glitter combinations and the different base colors go so well together. Formula and application were great and i didn't have to fish for any glitter.

The next swatch is Mint Macaron, 5 coats, no undies. Love this! The mint green is so perfect! It is pretty sheer, but I still like it because it's so packed with glitter, that the glitter itself gives you coverage. Remember to do thin coats though!

The next swatch is Sugar Plum Berry, 4 coats. This color is perfect for fall and the blue shimmer is a really nice detail. Its a little bit sheer but workable.

The next swatch is If The Crown Fits, 2 thin coats over Julep Valerie. This polish already looks pretty awesome in the bottle, and when i layered it over this teal i thought it looked amazing. The polish was slightly thick so i added a drop or 2 of polish thinner and it was perfectly fine after. I have a lot of pictures for this one.

The next swatch is Golden Apples, 3 coats. This polish is another one perfect for fall. The large sized golden flakes are a nice touch, its a little sheer but its workable.

you can really see the golden glitters in this picture.

The next swatch is Emerald & Ever Greens, 2 thin coats over American Apparel Hassid. This glitter topper is very pretty especially because its green and i don't really see many green glitter toppers. I originally had put it over a brown Sinful colors but one of my nails broke during work so i had to redo it over black and that's why my nails look different in this picture.

The next swatch is Sugar & Spice, 4 coats no undies. When I saw this polish it didn't really call my attention too much but once I put it on it really popped out to me, the brightness of the pink and I love the small round halo glitters. This polish is unique overall, make sure to do thin coats because of the size of the glitters and the amount of glitters in this polish its very easy to drag it down to the tip of your nails.

You can purchase these polishes at Rain City Lacquer's storefront by clicking here. You can follow Rica on instagram, facebook, twitter! Follow her to find more information regarding restocks and availability!

Which one did you guys like the most?
