OPI Neon Collection for Summer 2014: Swatches & Review

Hey guys! I have a pretty awesome post today, I finally found the new OPI Neon 2014 Collection. This is OPI's first full size neon collection, which I totally don't understand why they don't always do full size... They're formula is always amazing so a neon with perfect formula is automatically a win.

This collection consists of 6 new shades and a white base coat called Put A Coat On! to make the neon really pop. I really like the shades in this collection, but I wouldn't really say they're neons with the exception of one. The rest are definitely bright, but mostly because I wore the white base coat under each color.  The formula was great on most of them. This collection should be available now.

First off, the Put A Coat On! white base is basically just a white polish base coat. The formula wasn't all that great on the base coat either. It was slightly streaky and it wouldn't really dry fast. I personally don't like wearing a white base coat under neons simply because it's a hassle, especially with the clean up and having a bit of the white peak out from under the color. Note: I used one coat of the white base coat under every color.

Push & Pur-Pull. 3 coats. This is a dark purple that dries matte. It also has a jelly like formula, but not that sheer. I had most trouble with this one. I think I swatched it like 3 times until I was able to capture this semi good picture. I loved this color in the bottle. This probably caught my attention the most. It was kind of streaky over the white base coat. Like in certain spots it would look darker than in others.

Hotter Than You Pink. 2 coats. This is a bright pink with blue shimmer throughout that dries matte. It's funny because I always say pinks don't really call my attention but I have over 2 drawers in my helmer full of pinks! LOL So yes, this one didn't really grab my attention all that much but when I put it on, it was super bright and the blue shimmer is a nice touch. When I applied the first coat I thought it was going to be a bit sheer but it actually got full coverage after just 2 coats. The formula was great.

Down To The Core-Al. 3 coats. This is a bright coral with pink shimmer throughout that dries matte. This is really pretty, though it's not my favorite. The formula was pretty good, a bit sheer, but it built up quiet nicely.

It's not as bright and as red as it's showing, but I couldn't get a color accurate picture for this one.

Juice Bar Hopping. 3 coats. This is a bright  orange creme. I really love this orange. It's pretty bright but not a full on neon. But it's still one of my favorites from this collection. Plus, the formula and application was great.

Life Gave Me Lemons. 3 coats. This is neon lemon lime yellow creme.  It's the only one that was a true neon. It was really, really bright on my nails! It's in between a yellow and a light green, love it! Plus the formula was great. This is probably one of my favorites!

You Are So Outta Lime!  3 coats. This is a lime green creme. I love this one! This is another one of my favorites from this collection. To me it wasn't a full on neon, but it was bright and the green was pretty unique. The formula and application was great.

This one is a bit more color accurate. But I still had a hard time capturing this one too.

Overall, I'm kinda disappointed in this collection. The formula was great, except for Push & Pur-Pull but the neon was just not there. There's a reason why OPI released a white base coat for these, because other wise, they definitely don't look bright at all. I still like the colors, but I don't think they should be called neons. What do you guys think?
