OPI Fashion Plate: Swatches & Review

Hey guys! I have a new OPI collection to show you. This time, OPI and the Major League Baseball teamed up to create a limited edition collection inspired by different team colors. This collection ranges from cremes to frosty finishes.

I had heard about this collection a bit ago and saw some pictures but I honestly wasn't too excited, partially because I thought they were just re-releasing some colors. But when I walked into my local nail supply store, I saw them and they definitely caught my attention. Now, I'm no usually a big fan of frosty finishes, and this collection didn't really change my mind about it. I mean, they're bearable, but I don't see myself using them much.

Girls Love Diamonds. 3 coats. This is a shimmery white with iridescent shimmer. This one honestly didn't catch my attention all that much, but once I wore it, I really liked it! It's really pretty. It's kinda sheer at first, but it builds up really nicely.

Short-Stop!. 2 coats. This is a red coral creme. There's nothing really interesting about this polish. I mean, I like reds, but I probably have something like this in my collection already. The formula was great though, only needed two coats.

Love Athletes In Cleats. 3 coats. This is a red creme with silver and pink shimmer. I actually really like this one! I know, another red, but I don't think I have something like this in my collection. The shimmer is definitely a nice touch. Plus, the formula and application was flawless.

In different lighting but you can see the shimmer better.

Orange You Going To The Game?. This is a frosted tangerine orange polish. I really, really wanted to like this. I mean, it's an orange and OPI doesn't really do orange so I really wanted to like this one but the frost just ruins it in my opinion. It's a nice shade of orange and it was opaque in about 2 coats, but the brush strokes! ugh I'm just not a fan of a frost finish.

Umpires Come Out At Night. 3 coats. This is a dark cobalt blue creme. I just love this shade of blue! It's so bright and in your face. I was scared it was going to stain my nails though but it didn't. On the first coat, this does apply a bit sheer, like a jelly, but it builds up really nicely.

Right Off The Bat. 3 coats. This is a frosted cobalt blue. This looks awesome in the bottle, I mean just the blue alone is a stunning color. But again, the brush stokes are pretty visible if you're not careful with application. It was opaque in just two coats though.

7th Inning Strrretch. 3 coats. This is a frosted gunmetal blue. The brush strokes are not that noticeable on the nail as they are in the picture so it's not so bad. I mean, the blue is pretty, but not that unique. It's still a pain to apply to get those even brush strokes. It's really opaque though, I could have probably done 2 coats.

This collection should be available now. What do you guys think about this collection? Does the frost finish turn you off? Or is that your favorite part? let me know in the comments!

    1. I would totally like the frost finish if it wasn't for the brush stokes too Laura!

  2. Eventually they become hopeless instead of being ingenious and suffered from depression for being within fashion. On the other hand, it is also a thought that the money spending on Fashion could be spent for various other purposes like charity and helping the poor. Maria B Eid Collection
