Essie: Hide & Go Chic Collection- Swatches & Reivew

Hey guys! I finally have time to swatch my new Essie collection. I've actually had this for a while now. For some reason I've been getting really into Essie this past year so now I have to have every Essie collection that comes out. I've been stalking my local nail supply store for the new wedding and neon collection but they've been lagging it. I'll have to go back and check soon.

Hide & Go Chic. 2 coats. A cream azure blue polish. I really like this blue polish, it's bright but its not in your face. I could have easily done one coat but its always weird for me just using one coat so I applied a second.

Truth Or Flare. 3 coats. A dusty grey with blue polish. I have read a lot of mixed reviews regarding the formula of this polish but to me it was fine and I had no issues with it. Though this polish doesn't look all that unique I don't think I have a dupe for this one in my collection.

Fashion Playground. 3 coats. A pastel mint green with silver shimmer throughout. This is probably my favorite out of the collection because i love mint greens. I probably would have liked it more if you could see the shimmer better on your nails but it was extremely subtle.

Spin The Bottle. 3 coats. Sheer nude polish with pink undertones. I do like this nude polish but it's not all that unique. The formula wasn't that bad but be careful with application because it is runny and will flood your cuticles.

Romper Room. 2 coats. A light pink polish. This also isn't all that interesting, the formula was just like spin the bottle just really runny so be careful when you apply it.

Style Hunter. 2 coats. A bright watermelon red with pink undertones. I like this shade of red but there's nothing all that interesting about it. The formula was kind of sheer on the first coat with some visible VNL but with the second coat it was fully opaque.

Overall I didn't enjoy this collection all that much. My favorites were probably Fashion Playground, Hide & Go Chic and Truth or flare although I wasn't too crazy about those either. They should be available now at a store near you.

B Squared Lacquer: Domino Effect plus Nail Art

Hey guys! I'm back again with some more B Squared Swatches and nail art just like I said yesterday! I have an awesome black and white glitter topper to show you plus a water marble I did using the Spring Cremes by B Squared Lacquer.

I love black and white glitter toppers so I have plenty of them in my collection. But I have none like this one:

Domino Effect: Black & white glitter topper with white triangles, black dots, black squares, and black & white micro glitter. I used one thin coat over my water marble. I was able to get full coverage and the placement was perfect. I didn't need to dab anything.

And here's the water marble I did using all six pastel cremes from the Spring Cremes Collection by B Squared Lacquer, which you can see swatches of here

This is actually the second water marble that I have ever done. They look easy, but they're not. I was debating whether I should have used just a couple colors instead of all them all together, but I wanted it to look like a rainbow so I just used all of them

I don't know if this is a fail or a win. I actually really like them, but I don't think they're that goof for a water marble. I don't have the same design in each finger, but I personally like that. Practice makes perfect though, so hopefully I'll have better water marbles soon.

B Squared Lacquer: Spring Cremes Collection- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How is everyone's week going so far? I hope great! I've been pretty busy this week. I have some awesome stuff lined up for you guys this week so I hope you come back to check it out. Today I have another B Squared Lacquer collection, Spring Cremes. So check out the swatches after the jump!

If you read my blog often, you'll know that I LOVE pastels! They're so pretty and delicate. So Mia from B Squared Lacquer has outdone herself again with this beautiful collection. The pre-order for this collection has already started on the 19th of April, but the official launch and a full restock of her shop will be on May 3rd at 3 PM CDT. So in case you missed her Colorful Music Collection you can grab it then!

Funny Bunny. 3 coats. Pastel Pink creme.

Fuzzy Navel. 3 coats. Pastel Orange Coral creme.

Bees Knees. 3 coats. Pastel Yellow creme.

Sorry that my fingers look so dark in this picture, the yellow really darkened them.

Sprout. 3 coats. Pastel Green creme. I had a really hard time trying to capture a color accurate picture for this shade so that's why I had to take a shot like this. It's not as bright as it's showing but it is pretty close.

Rain Boots. 3 coats. Pastel blue creme. Love it!

Viola. 3 coats. Pastel Purple creme. For some reason the color changes when you apply a top coat so I decided to use no top coat for the pictures below. Mia is already aware of the situation and will let everyone know who does purchase it.

Overall I really love the polishes. These shades are perfect for spring. The formula was a bit streaky on most of them but it evened out with a top coat so it wasn't a big deal. The only polish that I mostly had an issue with was with Viola, simply because of the issue discussed above but I still like it regardless. I still totally recommend this collection to everyone.

You can follow Mia through her personal blog or her Instagram.

I''ll have some more swatches and nail art later today using these polishes, so make sure to check back later today!

The Neverending Pile Challenge Day: 5 - Jelly

I was trying to combine both days together but I had some trouble posting both inlinkz on the same post. So here's Day 5: Jelly, short and sweet (:

Jellies are some of my favorite types of polishes. You can do so much with them like the syrup gradient that's so easy to do because it requires no sponges! I was inspired by Chalkboard nails. I used 2 untried and 1 tried* polish for this challenge: China Glaze Are You Jelly, Nanacoco White Witch, and China glaze Isle You Later*

The syrup gradient was a bit harder than I expected it to be. I think because of the colors I chose. But I still really liked it.

Check out what the rest of the girls did:

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Day 4 - Frost

Hey guys! I'm finally catching up to  The Neverending Pile Challenge. I've kinda been MIA with this challenge because I had a lot to swatch. But today, I have Day 4: Frost.

Day 4: Frost

Oh my god, this prompt was so hard to do! I'm not a fan of frost polishes. And I just couldn't think of anything to do with it. Until finally I decided to do some ruffian nail art. I was able to use two untried polishes: China Glaze Swanky Silk and Finger Paints Bauhaus Burgundy. Here's a swatch of China Glaze Swanky Silk first;

And here's my ruffian nail art:

You can check out what the rest of the girls did here:

Alchemy Lacquers: Spring Ahead Collection plus random polishes- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How's your weekend going so far? I have a pretty big blog post today, Alchemy Lacquers recently released her new Spring Ahead Collection, plus some other polishes and I have all of those for you today! These polishes are perfect for spring! I really enjoyed them, so check out the swatches after the jump!

I'll show you the Spring Ahead Collection first, which consists of 6 crelly polishes, all inspired by flowers, perfect for spring!

Daffodil. 4 coats. This is a light yellow crelly with yellow, white and golden glitters in different shapes and sizes with yellow and silver shimer throughout. I love this one! The yellow is so pretty and unique. I actually don't have many yellow crellies. It sucks that the formula wasn't that great though. It was kinda thick, I don't know if its because of the small brush that comes with the minis or if it was the formula. Just make sure to do thin coats and wait for each coat to dry.

Crocus. 3 coats. This is a pink with hints of purple crelly with purple and lavender squares; yellow and dark purple hexes, and silver and purple shimmer throughout. I love this shade of pink, it's so perfect for spring and the glitter combination is so cute! Perfect combo. This is packed with glitter so just make sure to apply thin coats and allow to dry so it doesn't drag.

Lavendula. 3 coats. This is a light lavender crelly with dark purple, light lavender, lavender squares; lavender, holo purple, and blue hexes with purple and silver shimmer throughout. This has a really light lavender base that I couldn't capture, it's almost like an off white polish. Regardless, I love white crellies, and this glitter combo is great, and that shimmer that runs throughout all 6 crellies adds a nice touch. The formula and application was great.

This is the only shot I was able to get that showed off the purple.

Nasturtium.  3 coats. This is a light orange crelly with hexes and squares in red, yellow, and orange with yellow and silver shimmer throughout. I think this is one of my favorite ones out of this collection, The color combination in the glitter really popped out to me, especially against that light base. The formula and application was great.

Most color accurate

Hyacinthus. 3 coats. This is a purple with blue undertones crelly with squares and hexes in blue, purple, light blue, and grey with silver and purple shimmer throughout. I love purple crellies! (not as much as white ones, but they're still awesome.) And the glitter combination is so pretty! Especially that grey, it's a little unexpected since most indies don't use it, but I like it. The formula and application was a bit difficult, just wait for each coat to dry before applying the next to prevent any dragging.

This is under different lighting, that's why it looks like that.
Borage. 3 coats. This is a blue crelly with with squares, dots, and hexes in blue, purple, light blue, and grey with silver and blue shimmer throughout. This one is very similar to Hyacinthus, but in blue. It has light blue dots as well. The formula and application was great.

Overall, I really liked this collection, There's a nice variety of colors and the color combinations work so well. I definitely recommend it. Now, let's look at some other polishes Alchemy Lacquer released as well:

Gilded Hyacinth. 3 coats, no undies. I don't even know how to describe this polish so I'll just take it from Alchemy Lacquer's etsy store" Gilded hyacinth is a purple tinted, gold to silver metallic nail lacquer with multi-sized blue, pink, and purple glitters. " Yeah, there's just so much going on, but in a good way! It's so pretty and I honestly have seen anything like this.  It was a bit sheer but it builds up really nicely.

Wisteria. 3 coats. This is a light lavender creme with purple and silver shimmer. This is totally the opposite of Gilded Hyacinth. This one is so simple and delicate, but it's still so lovely. Alchemy Lacquers definitely has a little something for everyone, even if you're not a glitter fan ( do those even exists? lol) Formula and application was great.

Elixir No. 4. 4 coats. This is a sheer sapphire blue, interference special effect nail lacquer with iridescent micro glitter and green to purple color changing glitter, so basically it's awesome. LOL It's just so pretty, no beautiful! I have seriously not seen something like this. My nails would literally reflect off of each other. It's a bit sheer but you can layer it over something.

Potion No. 1. 1 coat over Essie Play Date. This is a colorful glitter topper with peach, pink, golden, yellow, white, and red glitter. Once again, this glitter combo goes so well together! It's so girly and cute. I got full coverage with just one coat.

Potion No. 2. 3 coats no undies. This is a glitter topper with pastel micro glitter in pink, purple, green, and blue; along with multi-sized iridescent glitter. The description on Alchemy Lacquer's etsy says its a glitter topper but I got pretty god overage with just one coat so I decided to just get full coverage with no undies. I decided to do some nail art, if that's what you can call this. LOL Once again, Alchemy Lacquer released something I'm new too. See, these pastel glitters are sort of metallic, they look really cool.

What did you guys think of these polishes? There's so many options! Remember, you can purchase these here. You can also follow Alchemy Lacquer on Facebook and Instagram
