Twinsie Tuesday: Endometriosis Awareness Nails

Hey guys! I hope everyone is had a great start of the week. Mondays always suck for me lol I get lazy. But this week's theme for Twinsie Tuesday is really special to me so I was excited to post! This week, the Twinsie Tuesday girls are wearing yellow to bring awareness to Endometriosis. Endometriosis is a hormonal and immune system disease in which endometrial cells or uterine lining cells exist outside the uterine cavity which then swell up and shed outside of the uterus causing extreme pain and sometimes infertility. This female reproductive disease affects approximately 1 in 10 women worldwide.

To be honest, I didn't know a whole lot of Endometriosis before this post so I'm glad I participated this week and learned a few things. I can't even begin to understand what these women must go through with all the pain every month. I don't have Endometriosis but I do have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). I was diagnosed about 2 years ago but I always knew something was wrong since I was about 15. I don't get pain like Endometriosis, but I can relate to the infertility aspect of it. My boyfriend (of six years now) and I haven't been trying to have a baby but we haven't been trying to stop it either and six years later, here we are with not a single pregnancy. At the moment I guess it's not something that I'm really worried about because I'm not in a hurry to have kids, but I know when we do start that chapter in our lives it will be really hard, both financially and physically. It's scary. Especially because that's the one thing that I'm supposed to be able to do because I'm a woman, and I can't. Finding out you have a disease that there's no cure for is stressful and scary, and if you're one of them, try to reach out to friends and family. You can also find more information regarding Endometriosis here

For today's nails, I did some simple daisy flowers using Zoya Daisy (wow I just realized the yellow is called Daisy! Definitely a coincidence.), Color Club Blank Canvas, OPI The It Color, and Enchanted Polish Flashing Lights.

I rarely use yellow to be honest. So I definitely had a hard time choosing something that would actually go well together. I also wanted a design that would feel happy. I think I did that but I'm not sure, I'll leave it up to you guys to decide. I wore Enchanted Polish Flashing Lights for my pinky and pointer finger and used Zoya Daisy to draw the yellow ribbons.

I then used Zoya Daisy as my base for my middle and ring finger and drew the white petals using Color Club Blank Canvas, and OPI The It Color for the middle. I then dotted a bit of Flashing Lights randomly.

I really hope you guys like it! Make sure to check out what the rest of the girls did down below. And make sure to click here to find more information regarding Endometriosis.

  3. Love how this came out! Fellow pcos cyster here. Between the infertility, this man hair on my face, insulin resistance that has turned into diabetes and the difficulty loosing weight, I can say it's one of the most frustrating things in my life.
