Twinsie Tuesday: Interlocking Nail Art + Lisa Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

Hey guys! It's Tuesday again! That calls for another Twinsie Tuesday post. This week's theme is Interlocking nail art. I'm also using this opportunity to swatch and review some Lisa Nail Lacquer! Check out what I did down below!

Lisa from Lisa Nail Lacquer asked me to swatch for her and I was pretty excited because they're a new brand, to me at least, and I love trying new brands! And let me tell you, I was not disappointed with these. The formula was amazing plus they're 4-free and vegan! Let's get to the swatches first.

Beach Bonfire is a hot orange leaning red jelly. This polish is part of the Summer Love Collection. I used three coats plus top coat for the swatches below. It was kind of sheer at first, but it built up nicely. Plus it was so smooth and not even streaky on the first coat, or any coat that is. This was so hard to capture though! It's way more orange than it's showing, my camera just kept capturing it as red.

Island Breeze is perfect baby blue creme. I used two coats for the swatches below. This polish is part of  The Perfect Pastels Collection. Sorry about the weird lines around my cuticles. I'm using the last bit of my top coat and it's getting kind of gooey. So it has nothing to do with the polish. The formula was amazing! It went on so smooth. Plus it's so pretty!

Overall, I'm really impressed with this brand. The formula and application on both was flawless. They went on so smooth. I honestly could have gone without a top coat, but you know, habits. You can purchase these for $7 each by clicking here. Make sure to follow them on Twitter and Instagram

And here's my design I did using both Lisa Nail Lacquer for my Twinsie Tuesday prompt. I was rather surprised on how much I liked this design. To be honest, I've never done an interlocking design because I don't really like them. But they're rather fun to do and they look quite nice. Plus, it's so easy!

I hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think down below! Also, check out what the rest of the girls did using the links below. You won't be disappointed!

Cupcake Polish's Sweet Addictions August Box: Swatches & Review

Hey guys! I have some amazing stuff to show you today! Cupcake Polish now does monthly subscription boxes! And let me tell ya, they're so awesome! This month's box theme is circus. The box consists of two beautiful polishes, and some amazing nail decals and nail vinyls too. Check out my swatches below!

The box was released yesterday, Sunday July 27th! I think there's still some left so you can purchase it here. It's only $30 (plus shipping) so I think it's totally worth it.

The first polish is Topsy Turvy by Cupcake Polish. This is a beautiful teal linear holo. I love it so much! I only needed two coats, no top coat for the pictures below. The formula was flawless, it went on so smoothly, why can't all polishes be like that?

Outdoor shots in the sun:

And the next polish is Trilby by Philly Loves Lacquer. This is  a gorgeous blurple jelly with tons of glitters in different shapes, colors, and sizes. It's honestly the perfect combination to go with this base. I was actually quite surprised with the formula. I thought it was going to be super sheer, but I go full coverage with just three coats, plus it went on great! No pulling or anything. For the swatch below I did two coats over Color Club Nail-Robi  on my pointer and pinky finger, and used no undies with 3 coats on my middle and ring finger.

The box also comes with Love, Angeline nail vinyls! These decals are new and exclusive to the box. The box contains these super cute elephant nail decals, which you can just apply to your nail and add a top coat. Or you can use it as a "vinyl" or stencil. The box also comes with these star/diamond vinyls. They are so cute and unique! I really like them. I personally had trouble with them because, well I suck at applying vinyls. They tended to rip easily so just be careful when you remove them.

Overall, I love this box!! It's so unique. The polishes are really amazing, plus you can do so much with them because of the vinyls. You can purchase this by clicking here. If for some weird reason you don't want can't purchase this box, make sure to check out Cupcake Polish on Instagram or Facebook to see what her next box will consist of!

Above The Curve: Summer Destinations 2014 - Swatches & Review

Lo Hey guys! How's every one's weekend going? I hope great! Today I have an amazing indie brand to show you! Above The Curve Nail Polish has beautiful polishes and they're behind an amazing cause.  They donate $1 of EVERY polish sold to Shriner's Hospital for Children and help raise awareness for Scoliosis.  I mean, how generous is that?!

Above The Curve Nail Polish is releasing their new Summer collection called Summer Destinations 2014. This collection consists of four beautiful jellies. These are available now, check out ATC's storefront to purchase.

Myrtle Beach is a awesome bright pink jelly with bright fine and small holo gitters, fine blue iridescent glitter, rainbow flakes and a light dusting of holo pigment. This one also dries matte. I'd say that this is my favorite from the four. It's so much brighter than the picture. I used two coats for the pictures below. The first swatch is without a top coat, and the second is with a top coat.

Venice Beach is a bright orange jelly with bright fine and small holo glitters, fine orange to gold iridescent glitter, rainbow shimmer flakes, and a light dusting of holo pigment. This one also dries matte.  I tried to capture it as color accurately as possible but I couldn't.  It's so much brighter. I used two coats with for the pictures below. The first swatch is without a top coat, and the second is with a top coat.

And here's some nail art I did using both Myrtle Beach and Venice Beach:

Coney Island is a gorgeous purple jelly with bright holo glitters, small color shifting glitter that shifts from red to blue to gold to violet, rainbow shimmer flakes, and a light dusting of holo pigment.  I used 2 coats for the swatches below.  This one also dries matte.  I think this is second favorite out of the four!  The shade of purple is so pretty! The first swatch is without a top coat, and the second is with a top coat.

Santa Cruz Beach is a beautiful cobalt bright blue jelly with bright fine holo glitters, fine color shifting glitter that shifts from blue to violet to red to green, rainbow shimmer flakes, and light dusting of holo pigment.  I used 2 coats for the swatches below.  This one also dries matte.

And here's some nail art I did using most of the collection. I've never done Ikat nail art before so sorry for them being kinda messy. Hope you guys like it!

I absolutely love this collection.  The formula and application on all of them is great.  They're a bit sheer with the first coat but it builds up wonderfully with just a second coat. I totally recommend Above The Curve Nail Polish.  I mean why wouldn't you want to wear a beautiful polish and also be helping a cause?

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired by Nature

Hey guys! It's Tuesday again so that calls for another Twinsie Tuesday post! This week's prompt is Inspired by Nature. I was really excited for this week's theme cause you can do so much! Check out what I did down below.

Because I'm in So Cal, I decided to do some ocean inspired nails.  I mean, there's so many beautiful beaches around here, it's what California is known for! I saw this beautiful pond mani that @razorbladerose (from instagram) did and I just had to recreate it.  I had actually never heard about this 'pond mani'  technique but it's very easy!

I used OPI Honey Rider for the sand texture, OPI I Can Teal You Like Me for the water and Wet N Wild French White.  I was happy I was finally able to use my Sheer Tints (though I only used one).  Though it was kind of disappointing because it was so stringy.  It was still workable but it's just more of a hassle.

All I did was applied the  'sand'  polish on half of my nail then I applied one coat of the blue polish on the bottom half of my nails. After that, I just sponged on the white polish a bit, then layer the blue polish again, etc, etc.  It's super easy.

I hope you guys like it! Sorry about it being late! Make sure to check out what the rest of the ladies did, just use the links down below!

Heather's Hues: Happily Ever Lacquered Collection Pt 2- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How was every one's weekend? It seems that every weekend for me now, has been super busy. I always have errands to run or things to do.  That's why I haven't been able to post much lately.  But I did have time to swatch a few more Heather's Hues polishes from her Happily Ever Lacquer Collection.  So check out the swatches below!

This time I'm showing you four out of fourteen.  About three days ago,  I did part one so you can click here to take a look at those. I'm really loving this collection. Heather was really able to capture each Disney character perfectly in every bottle.

*Descriptions taken from Heather's Hues store.

Fairest Of Them All is ''full of red and blue micro glitters, small yellow, blue, and white hexes and medium blue hexes and red squares as well as silver and red bar glitters.'' This is inspired by Snow White. At first I thought this was a glitter topper that's why i tried doing a glitter gradient over the red (China Glaze Seas The Day), but when I tried it, I noticed it had a dark blue jelly base like My Spirit Flies. This is really packed with glitter so be careful with the application or else it won't look smooth on your nails.

Kiss a Frog is a ''glitter bomb jam packed with glitters in gold, every shade of green and pale yellow.'' This is inspired by Princess Tiana from Princess and The Frog. I wore this over a gradient using Maybelline Bleach Neons Citrus Collide and Coral Heat. I think this looks perfect over this gradient! I really like this glitter topper. Plus the formula and application was great!

And the cool thing about this polish is that Heather gives you an option to include these green flower glitters shown below. She doesn't mix it with your polish, but you can easily add it on top.

Faith, Trust, & Pixie Dust is a ''translucent base polish with a purple to green shimmer also filled with various sizes of rainbow iridescent glitter, and a sprinkle of lavender and lime green glitters.'' I layered this over a green gradient using Zoya Tilda and Maybelline Bleached Neon Lime Accent and the pink accent is Maybelline Bleach Neon Pink Punch. This polish is so pretty! I think this is probably my favorite out of the four. It's so magical and totally does make me think of pixie dust.

I had a really cool sticker that I thought would look perfect with this mani but unfortunately you can't really see the color well. Maybe if I would have worn it over a white base it would have looked better.

Once Upon A Dream is a "feminine pastel pink crelly, packed with quite a variety of pink glitters as well as white and gold glitters." I used three coats for the swatches below.  I loved this polish! It represents Aurora from Sleeping Beauty perfectly! The formula and application was great! There was no need to fish our any glitters.

For some reason I thought vines reminded me of Aurora, so I drew them with Zoya Tilda. And then I used the extra glitter that Heather offers with this polish, to place over the vines.

I really liked these four that I swatched! I'm so happy I purchased this whole collection cause there's so much variety and overall the formula on each is very good. You guys should totally take a look if you like Disney! Even if you don't, Heather released a Sanrio inspired collection! So if you love Hello Kitty, go check it out.

Heather's Hues: Happily Ever Lacquered Pt. 1- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA lately.  I had a cold for a bit which was the worse with this Cali heat. My nails broke over the weekend too and now they're so short! But regardless, I have an amazing collection to show you today! Well part of it that is.  I'll have part two up tomorrow.  If you love Disney, then click check down below to check out the swatches.

I have Heather's Hues' Happily Ever Lacquered collection which is inspired by Disney of course.  I love it when indie companies make Disney inspired collections! They're always so amazing.  And Heather really knocked it out of the park with these polishes.  I'm only showing you 6 polishes today because the collection actually consists of 14! So I'd thought it'd be best to split it up.

*descriptions taken from Heather's Hues store front.

Girls Can Fight Is a shimmery red jelly that contains red micro flakes with gold shreds and hexes as well as black dots,  shreds, and diamonds. This one is inspired by Mulan.  I'd say this is my least favorite just because I'm not really a fan of the base color. I can see how Heather is showing Mulan through this, but I kinda like Mulan's blue dresses with all the greens and such.  I don't know, I just really like colorful stuff lol.  The formula and application was great though! I was a bit sheer but I only used 3 coats.  I did flip the bottle over for easier application of the larger glitters.

Glass Slippers Is a pale blue jelly filled polish with iridescent rainbow glitters and a mix of white glitters. This one is inspired by Cinderella,  of course.  I absolutely adore this polish! It's so pretty, and magical.  I just love it.  It truly does capture Cinderella in a bottle.  The formula and application was great! I used 3 coats, with no undies for the swatches below.  Those iridescent glitters look amazing.  The blue is actually a bit more dusty than its coming of in the pictures.

I also did some nail art for it. I was initially going to draw her pumpkin carriage but I failed lol so I thought this was the perfect occasion for some stickers I received a while ago. It looked different in my head so I'm not completely pleased with how it turned out.  Maybe if I had longer nails I'd like it more.

Belle Of The Ball Is a yellow crelly, filled with micro gold holo and banana pale yellow and gold hex glitters. This is inspired by Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  I love this shade of yellow.  It's not as bright as its coming off in the picture.  To be honest, I really liked what Heather was going with this, but it's hard to see the glitters because of the color of the base.  I also flipped the bottle over before applying it and I still had a hard time getting the larger glitters on my brush.  The polish was a bit runny, so make sure to remove the excess of your brush before applying.

My Spirit Flies Is a deep teal jelly packed polish with teal, brown, and orange hex glitters of every size. This is inspired by Merida from Brave.  I love the combination of glitters with the base, they really do represent Merida.  It was a bit sheer though, but I only did three coats.

I also decide to do some nail art inspired by Merida's dress.  She has golden scribbling on the bottom of the dress which was so easy to do on my nails.  I hope you guys like it.

I actually swatched the following two polishes a bit ago, that's why nails are longer. I just wanted to show them again so you guys can see the whole collection.

Let Down Your Hair. Inspired by Rapunzel from Tangled. This polish is a glitter bomb, it's full of purple and lavender micro glitters and hexes, as well as rose glitters. So girly, I love it!

Magic Carpet Ride. Glitter Gradient over Essie Limo. This is a jelly polish with a sheer blue base with gold and teal glitters in different shapes and sizes, and gold and teal flakies. This is inspired by Princess Jasmin from Aladdin. When i saw this polish I wasn't all that interested in it but once I put it on I realized that I really like the glitter combination, it's really soft and girly. It's pretty sheer so you might want to layer it over something. Other than that formula and application was great.

Overall, I really like these polishes. Though some are a hit and some are a miss (for me personally), there is plenty to choose from and there a little something for everyone. I totally recommend Heather's Hues! You can purchase these polishes on Heather's Hues store by clicking Here. You can also follow Heather's Hues on Facebook and Instagram.

Twinsie Tuesday: One Stroke Flower

Hey guys! It's Tuesday again, and this week's Twinsie Tuesday's theme is One Stroke Flowers. I was totally dreading this week's theme simply because I knew it was going to be a nail fail, and boy was I right lol. Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think.

I was initially trying to do two colors but I found that difficult so I found this awesome tutorial from Lucy's Stash and I thought I'd give it a try. I was going to use white nail polish for the flowers but every tutorial that I found, they would always use acrylic paint so I don't know if the one stroke technique only works with acrylic paint, but I just used it just in case.

I used Color Club Miss Bliss as the base. This probably would have looked a bit better if I would have taken a sun shot but I didn't have time to.

I think my brush was partially at fault. I don't really have a good flat brush, so the bristles didn't really work with me. Plus in case you haven't noticed, my nails broke over the weekend so that was a lot harder to work with since they're so short now. But overall, I just suck at this lol. Regardless, check out what the rest of the ladies did cause they always do amazing work.
