OPI: Miss Universe Mini Collection 2013

Hey guys! Just a quick post today!

I recently purchased the Miss Universe Mini Collection 2013 that OPI released a bit ago. I don't know why I waited til now! The polishes are so pretty! And they go perfect together! Here's a list of them and their description:

  • I'm Feeling Sashy: dusty light purple
  • Miss You-Niverse: dark purple creme
  • This Gown Needs A Crown: matte silver foil

I'm Feeling Sashy. 2 coats, no undies. I love dusty polishes! Especially in purple. It's just such a pretty color. The formula and application was great.

Miss You-Niverse. 2 coats, no undies. Love this dark purple! I'm pretty sure I have something like this from a previous China Glaze collection from this year but I still really like it! Plus, you could honestly only do 1 coat for this polish if you apply it well.

This Gown Needs A Crown. 2 coats on ring finger. I decided to do some very simple nail art for this polish. It's so pretty! I think this might be my favorite silver ever! The formula and application was great. I used no top coat for this polish for the pictures below.

I'll have a post up tomorrow! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Dashing Housewife Polish: New Years Collection- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! So what are you guys doing this weekend? I can't believe it's almost going to be New Years. I'm thinking about going to Disneyland cause I've never done that before. Too bad my annual pass is blocked out ugh. What are you guys planning on doing?

Today I have Dashing Housewife's New Years Collection. I must say, there are some pretty awesome polishes in this collection. I really liked this collection overall, there's a very nice variety from neon glitters to some glitter toppers.

Here's a list of them and their descriptions:

  • Meet Me On The Dance Floor: off white crelly base polish with green, blue, and pink neon glitters
  • Holiday Collaboration: light brown crelly base polish with teal, orange, caramel, and gold holo glitters
  • 10 Minutes To Midnight: purple jelly polish with silver holo glitters, and blue flakies
  • Kiss Me At Midnight: blue/teal jelly with green shimmer, silver holo glitters, and large heat glitters
  • Ball Drop: glitter topper with gold glitters in a silver micro glitter mix
  • Party Like It's 1999: glitter topper with black, silver, and purple glitters
Meet Me On The Dance Floor. 3 thin coats, no undies. Such a different polish compared to what I've been seeing lately. I really like it! Especially the off white base. The formula and application was great.

Holiday Collaboration. 3 coats, no undies. Though this is part of the New Years Collection, it reminds me more of Thanksgiving than anything. It's still a nice polish but not something I'll reach for for New Years. The formula and application was great.

10 Minutes To Midnight. 3 coats, no undies. I love this polish! The purple looks way prettier on the nails than in the bottle. And the blue shimmer in it looks great, especially in the right lighting. The formula and application was great. Just remember to do thin coats so you don't get any bold spots.

Kiss Me At Midnight. 3 coats, no undies. When I applied this polish, I thought for sure that it was going to stain my nails but it didn't! I was really happy about that because I love this type of teal blue. And the green shimmer is such a nice touch! The formula and application was great.

Ball Drop. 2 thin coats over American Apparel Downtown LA. I thought this would look awesome over a red but I think this red is just too bright for this gold glitter topper. The formula and application was great.

Party Like It's 1999. 2 thin coats over NOPI Not  A Gold Bigger( yeah this is my favorite gold polish, that's why I use it all the time!) I really love the purple in this glitter topper! And I got tons of glitter on the brush for every coat, no need to fish out any glitter here.

This Collection is available for purchase now! You can purchase this from Dashing Housewife Polish's etsy store by clicking here. And like always, you can follow Dashing Housewife Polish on instagram, and  facebook

BubbleLina Polish: Swatches & Review

Hey guys! Wow, I totally disappeared there for bit. It's been very hard keeping up with painting my nails and such lately because of the holidays. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Today I have some Bubblelina Polish swatches for you. Here's a list of them and their description:

  • Pink Cheeks: Neon pink with scattered holo and glows in the dark.
  • Queen of New Years Eve: Is a glitter bomb with all different shapes and sizes including purple and gold glitters with gold holo stars.
  • Hot Suga: Reverse Thermal, in a warm state it is a soft pearly white while in its cold state it transforms into a dark coral tone.
  • Ginger Rothstein: Polish is loaded with different size gold glitters and shimmers.
  • Ornamental: Also a glitter bomb with blue, white and silver glitters. Includes beautiful blue and turquoise stars.
  • More Gifts For Me: A violet jelly base with 20 different shapes, sizes and colors of glitter.
  • My Lover Perfect: Is another thermal polish. It is a dark fuschia when cold and turns into a light pink when it is warm. Also has pink and silver flecks in it.
Pink Cheeks. 3 coats, no undies. This super neon pink polish is really hard to photograph. The scattered halo is a lot stronger than is showing in the picture. It dries matte with a bit of texture, so i added 2 coats of top coat. The polish was a bit streaky but i evened it out with the three coats.

More Gifts For Me. pinky and pointer fingers: 2 thin coats over OPI Funky Dunkey. Middle and ring finger: 3 coats no undies. I love the glitter combination in this polish, I think i like it more with no undies because it just really lets the colors stand out on their own. It was a bit thick since it has so many glitters in there but it was workable.

My Lover Perfect: 3 coats, no undies. This is my favorite polish of them all. The polish is just so pretty especially when it goes through the transition I wish i had longer nails to show the polish off better. This would be a perfect princess nail polish. Formula and application are great.

Ginger Rothstein: One thin coat over NOPI Listen to your Momager!. I only needed one thin coat of this glitter bomb because its very jam packed. I love the inspiration behind this polish since Casino is one of my favorite movies. Remember not to do thick coats so the polish doesn't look lumpy.

Hot Suga. 3 coats, no undies. I love this polish! It sucks that it makes my fingers and cuticles look so dark. It's like a pearl pink when warm and a bright coral when cold. It also has a golden shimmer in it. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that it would transition from cold to warm very quickly and even the tips of my nails wouldn't turn coral either. I guess it has to be extremely cold to transition. Also, I almost forgot to mention that this polish smells so good!

And sorry about my fingers being so wet in the pictures. I had to take the picture immediately after taking them out of the water.

Queen of New Years Eve: 2 thin coats over Hot Suga. Another perfect glitter topper for New years. Formula and application were great i didn't have to fish out for any glitters.

Ornamental: I dabbed 2 coats over NOPI Not a Gold Bigger. This glitter topper is very pretty I really love the bright blue stars. Formula and application is good.

Black Cat Lacquer Haul- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How was everyone's weekend? I went to Disneyland on Saturday, god,  it's so beautiful there during the holidays! I'm so excited to go again on Friday, though I know there's gonna be tons of people, the wait times are ridiculous!

So today I have a Black Cat Lacquer haul to show you that I actually purchased in October but I've been putting it off because I did so many swatches for other indie brands that I didn't have time! And now, I already received my black Friday haul so I figured I would show this one first. I actually didn't get this package til like 2 weeks after I ordered it which is so weird for a black cat lacquer order because my orders usually ship within a day or two of ordering, plus they're SoCal too. But the package got lost or something I think, it was so frustrating! I even opened a case for it, but luckily it arrived!

Some of these polishes are actually some Halloween shades, but I still like them a lot so I hope you guys do too. Here's a list of them and their description:

  • The Punpkin King: glitter topper with black glitter in different shapes and sizes, neon orange hexes, and orange pumpkin glitter
  • Dead Men Tell No Tales: glitter topper with black and white glitters in different shapes and sizes; black and white skull and cross bone glitter
  • 999 Happy Haunts: glitterbomb with black, white, neon green, and lavender glitters with rainbow shimmer, purple flakies, and holo shimmer
  • Poison Apple: thermal polish that is dark red when cold and bright red when warm with scattered holo
  • Oh Mickey You're So Fine!: glitterbomb with silver holo, red, black & white glitters with a rainbow shimmer base and holo mickey glitters
  • Aquaris: dark purple jelly with flakies, large circle glitters, and stars.
  • Taurus: dark blue jelly filled  with green, blue, and brown glitters with rainbow shimmer

And the swatches:

The Pimpkin King. 2 thin coats over American Apparel Berry. I really like this polish. I love black and white glitter toppers and the orange hexes is a nice touch. I don't have any pumpkin glitter on my nails because honestly I didn't even know there were any in the polish. I didn't get any  on my brush. I don't think it's necessarily a BCL problem, but just a pumpkin glitter problem in general. Every polish that had those always gave you trouble, so just make sure to flip the bottle over.

Dead Men Tell No Tales. 2 thin coats over Essie Little Brown Dress. I really do like this polish, but I don wish it was a bit more interesting. I'm not a huge fan of shard glitter and this did have  a but of those. The application and formula was great.

999 Happy Haunts. 2 thin coats over OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? I really love thise polish! it's so pretty! Especially those purple flakies. I really like this combination too. Application and formula was great.

Poison Apple. 3 coats, no undies. I just love this polish!! I love anything Disney and this is just so awesome. I mean its a great idea. I can't believe no one had thought of this before. Application and formula was great. And my nails are long in these pictures because like I said above, I had gotten these polishes a while ago and am only now swatching and posting them.

Oh Mickey You're So Fine! 2 thin coats over China Glaze Sea Breeze. I love this polish too, I mean it's Disney! and it has holo! The application and formula was great.

Aquarius. 3 coats, no undies. Omg, I just love this polish so much! The purple jelly, the big circular glitter, the flakies! It's just a beautiful polish. I can't believe I waited til now to swatch it. Application and formula was great.

Taurus. 3 coats, no undies. And I love this one too! It reminds me of the ocean, or mermaids, and those types of polishes are the best. The holo shimmer is a nice touch. I totally recommend this one, plus the application and formula was great.

I love my BCL haul! It sucks that I wasn't able to show my Halloween polishes earlier, but better late than never right? I'll have the second half sometime this week for you guys but in the meanwhile, you can purchase these here. You can follow Black Cat Lacquer on facebook, twitter, and instagram

Simple & Seasonal: Swatches & Review

Hey guys! So I've been kind of MIA for a bit. But today I have a quick post for you guys. I was recently contacted by a new and upcoming indie brand called Simple & Seasonal created by Benita. She has some beautiful holiday polishes out right now, go check her etsy shop out by clicking here.

I only have one swatch today: Holly, a beautiful frosty green. I only did 2 coats, I could have easily gotten away with only 1, but I just feel weird only using one coat, is that just me?? lol

The formula was a bit thick but I just added a few drops of polish thinner and it was fine. Also, be careful with your brush stokes since its a frost polish. I totally recommend this polish, especially for the holidays!

You can purchase this from Simple & Seasonal's etsy shop by clicking here. And you can follow S&S on instagram for updates.

Candied Lustre Lacquer: Holiday Polishes- Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How was every one's weekend? Monday again tomorrow, oh how the weekend goes by so fast...

Anyways, I have a quick post today: just a few Candied Lustre Laquer holiday polishes that are just beautiful! Omg I hope you guys like them as much as I did.

And here's a list of the polishes that I received today and their descriptions:

  • Oh Tannenbaum: holo green jelly with hexes in different colors and sizes
  • Mistletoe: teal jelly with green glitters in different shapes and sizes
  • Light My Sleigh: red jelly packed with red holographic glitters
and the swatches...

Oh Tannenbaum. 3 coats, no undies. Wearing this polish is like wearing a tree on your nails. It's so perfect for the holidays and the holo is a nice touch. The formula and application was great.

Mistletoe. 4 coats, no undies. This polish is pretty sheer, I think it'll  look nicer with a base polish. I do like this polish though, but I think I would've liked it more if the glitter wasn't so scattered.

And the last swatch is of Light My Sleigh. I did 3 coats, no undies. OMG this polish is just so beautiful. I love it so much!! The holo and the red base is just so pretty together. This will probably go into my top 10 polishes because I love it so much. The formula and application was wonderful.

You can purchase all of these polishes through Candied Lustre Lacquer's etsy shop by clicking here. You can follow Candied Lustre Laquer for updates on Instagram, Facebook, and twitter

China Glaze: Holiday 2013 Happy Holiglaze - Swatches & Review Part 2

Hey guys!

Like I said yesterday, I have the rest of the China Glaze Happy Holiglaze Collection. It's weird because I thought I would like this half more than the first half that I swatched yesterday, but no, I totally like yesterday's half way more! Anyways, here's a list of them and their descriptions:

  • There's Snow Man Like You: white texture polish
  • All Wrapped Up: blurple micro glitter
  • Bells Will Be Blinging: gold, blue, and silver glitter topper
  • So Blue Without You:  bright blue foil
  • This Is Tree-mendous: green and gold micro glitter
  • Your Present Required: glitter topper with blue, white, orange, purple, green, silver, and gold hexes
And the swatches...

First up is There's Snow Man Like You. 2 thin coats. I had heard really bad things about this polish, that the formula was horrendous and such. And honestly I was scared to use this because of how short my nails were, but I don't know, I  didn't have much trouble with it. I just did 2 really thin coats. I can see what they were trying to do with this but I don't know, it does kind of look weird.

Next is All Wrapped Up. 3 coats, no undies. I'm actually really loving these micro glitter polishes, especially in this color! The formula wasn't bad, the glitter was really dense and it was easy to build up with no base polish.

Next is Bells Will Be Blinging. 2 thin coats over OPI Unripened. As a glitter addict, i thought I would really like this, but I didn't. It's just kind of blah. There's really nothing special about it.

So Blue Without You. 3 thin coats. I'm sorry about the bad picture, I just could not take a decent photo of this polish, it's just so shiny! I did like this polish, but I don't see myself using it much. The formula and application was great.

This Is Tree-mendous. 3 thin coats, no undies. And here's another micro glitter polish, and it's green so it's awesome. I really like this one. It's kind of hard to spot the gold micro glitter in there, and definitely hard to photograph. The formula and application was great.

And the last swatch is of Your Present Required. I did 1 thin coat over OPI My Pointe Exactly. I really do like this glitter topper, especially the white glitters and the large white hexes. It seems like something an indie company would do. I had a little trouble applying this, but I think it's the brush I got in the bottle because all the glitter would stick together and the brush was so thin.

So there you go guys, what did you guys think about this collection? I did like the micro glitter polishes, I really want to play with those a bit more.

Thanks for reading guys! I'll have some more swatches tomorrow!
